♢BEHIND THE HANDCRAFTER♢

Tina Sosna

This week from Germany, the talented  21-year old, Tina Sosna will inspire you to combine nature into your life and creations.

What you do? and When did it started your passion for what you do?
T: I’m an analog photographer and create envelopes and other little things with nature themes.
I took my first analog photographs about six years ago when I found out that this medium is the perfect way for me to express my feelings and thoughts. Beside that I always enjoyed making things out of paper for my pen pals. And began to open my lovely envelopes shop about a year ago.

What is your favorite handcrafted piece and why?
T: I would say it’s this nature envelope set:

Because it was the first time that I have made my own illustrations on a paper for an envelope. It combines some of the things I love in nature.

Describe the most exciting moment when starting a new Project?
T:
The most exciting moment is maybe to collect all the ideas you had in your mind so long and get
them organized into a beautiful product.

Something that can never run out in your workspace.
T:That would be definetly paper, glue and yarn!

Lastly, What would you like to say to your fellow "handcrafters" in the world that want to share their work but still don't feel comfortable about it.
Simply start! Even if you think your work is not perfect enough or you worry no one will appreciate it. Someday there will be someone who will like your products and supports you!

♢BEHIND THE HANDCRAFTER♢

Nuria Molas (Diario de una couturier)

This week I had the lovely pleasure to interview the lovely NĂºria a 31 year old  Spanish couturier based in barcelona.

What do you do? and When did it started your passion for what you do?
N: I design and I sew clothes for very feminine women. I think I always loved everything that involves fabrics. I just love to discover new patterns and create clothes. When I was in college I had the opportunity to live in Belgium for a while and that country everything that involves fashion and creativity is so elegant that I realize that I wanted to work in something like that.

What is your favorite handcrafted piece and why?
N: I just love to make skirts.

Describe the most exciting moment when starting a new Project?

N: I think the most exciting moment is when you make your first sell. I mean, when you create something with your hands you are not sure that somebody will love it. But when you see somebody loving your creations and at the same time you see how they look on them and their happy face all the effort you put working on this design makes sense.

Something that can never run out in your workspace.
N:Two kind of scissors. One I used it to cut papers and the other one is just for fabrics.

Lastly, What you would you like to say to your fellow "handcrafters" in the world that want to share their work but still don't fell comfortable about it.
N: Eveybody is creative so there is not point for not showing what you are doing. It is a good way to improve, to get to know other people who share the same interests and hobbies, gain self-esteem and get involved with new and exciting projects. So, show what you are doing because you are losing great opportunities for not doing it.
